About the Event

Join us for a conversation on the state of LGBTQ+ and trans equality in Michigan in 2026 and beyond.

This conversation will be guided by Equality Michigan Action Network's own senior director of movement building and political affairs, Emme Zanotti, as well as the ACLU of Michigan's LGBTQ+ Rights Project Staff Attorney, Jay Kaplan.

This conversation will feature recaps of recent and pending court rulings, a summary of Michigan's LGBTQ+ civil rights protections and the challenges they are currently facing, specific conversation around the state of transgender health care in our state, and some robust discussion about what community members and allies can be doing right now to protect each other and to protect LGBTQ+ equality in Michigan.

There will be some time for brief question and answer as well.
